From thefe I have collated as much as lay out of view in the Library, and at hand in my owo colleétion, whilft I am well aware that, in compofmg fuch notices, 1 muft be far inferior toother writers on rare and remarkable books, Baumgarten, Clement, Denis, Freytag, Gotze, Mafch, Panzer, Rbderer, Strobet.; and I alfo know that bowfcever we may guard againft literary folecMms, 1 Ihall never be free from defeéts, as may be learnt from moft of the criticifma on recent literary works. Hence if I fhould difcover fuch defeâs as in this piece have already appeared after the irft ëght Iheets were printed off, additions muft be. made. Should my undertaking find favour, I am refolved to continue thefe Notices half yearly, without the purchafers needing to dread a voluminous work.
